Well...
It was really good, as your flashes always are. But rtll has a very valid point; it's incredibly frustrating for someone to suddenly throw in some potentially plot-altering points between episodes and then tell people to buy a book to find out what happened for a series that was originally presented for free.
If you want to make money, start something else and charge for it at the beginning; if you continue doing this with Xombie, two things will happen. Either the series will just lose public interest because all these important things keep happening and can only be explained if you buy the book, or you'll eventually just put in minimal, if any, effort into the flashes and focus solely on where you earn money, and the series will probably die. Episode 9 is a paragon of that possibility; it WAS painfully short and possessed practically no vital plot points whatsoever, just a 3-minute-or-so action sequence with a revamped Zoe.
I really don't want to see this series die and fall to greed, but the move you made with that book and this episode highlights the beginning of just that. If you really want to make money off of Xombie, I suggest at least waiting until the storyline has developed further, and then making books or feature-length films SEPERATE from the Flash story line and charging for those. Or rely on merch. Stuff that doesn't interfere with the story's roots. Understand that not everyone is going to buy that book, and thus, when they see the eye patch and bear, will only think "What the hell, only 3 seconds elapsed between ep. 8 and 9". We all need money, but you shouldn't have to sacrifice a wonderful idea for it, Farr.
Aside from all that junk, the style and voices were superb, as always. Even though I'm not happy about your move with the book, Dirge's attitude at the end made me laugh.
